The “Help Us Build Our Audience” Contest

Win a digital photo from Postcard Valet – and the rights to use it however you like! *

Open from September 20th to 27th September 2011.

We’re trying to grow our audience and we need your help!  We’re holding a week-long mini-contest every time we post one of our podcast videos.  Over the next seven days, if you share a link to our Diving in Zanzibar episode with your own network of friends and followers on Twitter or Facebook — be sure to @rlomidgett on Twitter or @Arlo Midgett on Facebook so I can find it! — you’ll automatically be entered to win ANY ONE of the photos we have on our site!

Take a look through our SmugMug Galleries or our country-specific albums.  Lots of great photos in there, right?

Details:

If you retweet or share the links provided above, I should be able to compile the entries by myself at the end of the week.  If you want to be sure that you’re entered, take a quick moment and email me proof that you shared our blog entry with your own audience – include a link, or a screenshot, or you know, just tell me that you did it.  We’re on the honor system here, people!

Contest closes at midnight on Tuesday, July 27th.  (That’s Russian time, by the way.  I can’t be bothered to figure out when midnight rolls around in the U.S.!)

Winners:

If you’re our randomly-selected winner, you can pick most any photo on our website and we’ll let you do with it as you please.  Use it as a desktop wallpaper, order custom framed prints, or even resell it yourself!  The only stipulation is that it is given to you with a Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution (CC by) license (see below.)

If you’re the winner, I’ll send you:

  • The RAW camera file of the photo of your choosing, as well as…
  • The altered JPEG (cropped, color-corrected, or whatever I did to it to make it look pretty)
  • In addition, if I bracketed the exposure (very likely if we shot it with the 5D), I’ll provide you with the lighter and darker exposures, too!

* Very few restrictions apply:

  • We reserve the right to refuse to give away certain photos.  Don’t worry; it’ll probably just be the ones that make us look goofy.
  • The photograph you win will be Creative Common licensed.  This means that you’re free to use it however you like, including commercially, as long as you always attribute it to Postcard Valet and/or Arlo Midgett.
  • Some photos we’ve taken were never captured in the RAW image format, notably those taken with Oksana’s point-and-shoot.  In the event that the winner requests one those photos, we’ll be sure provide the original, unaltered JPEG.
Previous Winners (Thanks!)
